I am not happy that this "bailout plan" passed in the Senate last night. I think it is a recipe for disaster. Historically, the things that the government gets control of, they never give back, and they get more and more power. If we’re not careful, we could end up slipping into socialism.
I have always been a supporter of President Bush, but in this case, I am really disappointed in him. I can only conclude that he wants to fix our economy temporarily so he won’t go down in history as the president when the great depression of ’08 began. I realize that the problem itself isn’t his fault and that he tried to resolve it before it came to this point, but I don’t think his solution now is a good one.
So what is the answer? I think Dave Ramsey proposes a good plan on his website. He says we need to pray for our political leaders, that they would have wisdom and not fear. Then he gives a series of financial steps that make much more sense for both the short and long term than what is currently going through Congress.
I wrote my Representative, Jim Cooper, last night, asking him to vote against the bailout plan (even though he voted for it the first time through). I should have done this sooner, writing my senators too, but better late than never. This is one thing we can all do.
I don’t know what the next few days will hold for our country, but they may be life-changing. I have to remember that God is in control and continue to pray that He will have mercy on us all.

I don't even know what to say, except "God, have mercy on us! and Guide us!"
